2025 Class Newsletters

We have three Roopu at Whanganui East School: Roopu Tui, Roopu Ruru, and Roopu Kereru.

Roopu Tui is our Years 0 to 2, where we have excited and inquisitive minds to support and grow.

Roopu Ruru is our Year 3 to 4, where our students are developing self-awareness of who they are, expanding on what they can do by making wise connections to the knowledge they have developed, and the new knowledge they are learning.

Roopu Kereru are our fabulous senior students, Years 4 to 6. They have a stronger belief in themselves, who they are, and what they bring with them.  They are great support buddies to our younger students and thrive in their tuakana teina roles. This Roopu is where students strive to become the leaders of our kura, Respect Leaders, Librarians, Road Patrollers and Kaea of our  Te Rōpū o Tōtara Puku Kapa Haka Roopu.
